Meet Fisecal
A Workout For Your Money

How to say it: fizᐧihᐧcul, as in “physical”
When you hear people talk about their finances, or you talk about yours, how does that make you feel? Anxious? Stressed? Confused? Luckily, you’re not the only one. Most people feel the same way and often only discuss their finances with partners or close family members. So many of us struggle with financial stress and America has an unhealthy obsession with keeping their finances private, while projecting a façade of lavish lifestyles on social media. The truth is, often it’s all just for show, and that person you’re following is in debt.
For most Americans, living paycheck to paycheck is everyday life; there’s just no other way to survive. About 20% of households have more debt than savings. The average household has over $5,000 in credit card debt, not to mention student loans, mortgages and/or auto loans. The debt crisis in America continues to rise every year, with no end in sight. Along with sky-rocketing debt comes payments that become unmanageable. If they turn into late payments, then they begin to affect your credit score, costing you more money. One of the biggest factors contributing to the mismanagement of money is a lack of financial education. Sure, you can read about how to be fiscally responsible or pay to attend personal finance seminars. But in reality, most people only follow this advice for a week, a month, or even a few months. Ultimately, the frustration of not being able to stick to a budget is what forces people to abandon their financial goals.
The tough combo of unrealistic budgets and little financial know-how is nothing new. And yet, the financial services industry sees more benefit in keeping people in a cycle of debt than helping them get ahead. It’s time for that to change. Financial struggle shouldn’t be the new normal, and that’s why Fisecal was founded, to do what other financial firms won’t: 1) provide financial education, so that people can eventually manage their money independently, and 2) provide a safe space for people to talk through their financial fears.
At Fisecal, it doesn’t matter how much money you have to invest or where your money is being held. Living paycheck to paycheck? We’ve got your back. Just graduated? Come on down! Or maybe you have extra cash at the end of the month and want to know what to do with it. If you’re open to new ideas, want to learn how to manage your money, and are ready to work hard to do so, we can’t wait to meet you.
